PickYour Plum listed these cute pantry labels as their deal of the day. I immediately wanted them and then reminded myself that since Christmas is over, I need to start spending wisely.
I made my own pantry labels using only supplies I had on hand. I used chalkboard vinyl decal paper, chalk markers, a large circle punch and some scalloped scissors. This project was super easy. Even a non-crafter can handle these chalkboard canister labels.
I recently purchased this amazing circle punch at Michael’s. (I have been using it for centerpieces for my cousin’s upcoming baby shower.) Cutting out the vinyl circles was easy peasy.
I bought the chalkboard decal paper from Pick Your Plum last summer. The chalkboard vinyl has adhesive backing. I ended up not even using a whole sheet for this project.
I used scalloped scissors to turn the scraps into labels for my smaller containers.
My boring canisters are a bit prettier now. In addition, house guests who wish to whip me up a cake will be able to differentiate between the flour and powdered sugar!
The one drawback is that my pretty writing will likely wash off when the time comes to clean the canisters.

Easy & look great! I think I need to pick up some of those chalk markers!
ReplyDeleteVery good use of what you had on hand! Love the comment about powdered sugar and flour. We had a fiasco at my house once when my hubs dipped the meat in powdered sugar instead of flour. Coordinating containers can be confusing without labels! I will try your idea:) Saw your post at Savvy Southern Style.
