Sheet Music Book Covers

We have countless books in our house and I like to incorporate them into our décor. I set out to make the books on the shelves of our floor lamp look more uniform. I covered the books using sheet music from HotPop Singles 1991, Volume 2.

First I measured the paper, leaving extra to fold over on each end. I also made sure that the seams would not be visible on the spine of the book. Then I used packaging tape to secure all of the sheet music into one large piece of paper. (Make sure the tape is on the interior of the book cover.)

Next I measured the length of the book. I used a straight edge to ensure the top and bottom folds were even. Once the top and bottom are folded under, the paper should be the same length as the book.

Finally, I slid the cover into the side pockets, which were created by folding the paper on the left and right sides inward.

The Handy Geography Answer Book never looked so good!

The different colored covers are no longer distracting and Practical Skywatching is still close at hand.

Did you notice my new rotary dial phone? I think I am officially a collector. I told you in October how I wanted a phone similar to Grandma Kregel’s. My mom and MB found one for me at a resale shop. Then my BFF Stef surprised with this beauty on New Years. It looks very similar to Grandma’s phone. I now have it proudly displayed atop a stack of marvelously covered books. The vintage phone looks right at home in our living room.

Since it worked with the phones, I’m going to throw this out there…I would love a Cadillac SRX Crossover and some new kitchen appliances.

  1. I love this idea and it brings back memories of being in grade school and having to cover all our school books each year. We used paper garbage bags. Thanks for the inspiration!
